SBR stands for "sequential batch reactor." In contrast to the flow-through principle, the system's activation chamber is fed preclarified wastewater at intervals. The result is a purifi - cation process in four separate phases.
The ZONS®eco is a purely biological treatmentsystem. Following preclarification in the settling tank, the remaining crude water is transferred to the activation tank. Here, aerobic microorganisms (activated sludge) consume impurities, converting them into biomass. Alternating circulation and aeration create an environment that eliminates both carbon and nitrogen. The ZONS®eco has nitrogen elimination as standard equipment. This is above all thanks to its aeration system.
When the air feed is interrupted, the aeration pump circulates the entire contents of the tank, creating ideal conditions for nitrogen elimination. The small wastewater treatment unit fits perfectly into single- or multiple-chamber systems. The retrofit packages are identical for both system types.
